The chairperson's dinner at Shola's was absolutely incredible. Chef Olunloyo had a photographer on site for this one, Jeff Towne, fellow Shola-fan and Producer of the radio program Echoes (you hear it on XPN, 10pm), captured our dishes on film and provided a write up on eGullet
Every chairperson will tell you that planning our events is a lot of work; I can say that our group of hard workers was well rewarded by this dinner, and by the excellent wine and food pairings - the bar has been set just a little bit higher by this one!
Cencibel 6th Anniversary reflections:
In the six years that we have been a group, twenty-eight of us have worked to chair events. So much work, heart & soul go into chairing each event, especially as we get bigger and the events require more coordinating. I wanted to take a minute to recognize and thank each of you for your work because without it, Cencibel simply would not continue to run.
Beth Sheligo takes the lead with more than ten and following her are Debby Allen, Frannie Engelbert (who started organizing as Frannie Fowler), Meryle Melnicoff then nine of you with two under your belts and many others with one: Linda Hamilton (also designer of our logo), Mary Frankel, Joyce Vecchioli, Valerie Jester & Betsy Barr, Laura Lambright, Jessica Halsey, Sandee Raskin, Anita Skogland and Mary Bak. The list goes on to include Janet Klauss (her second coming up this Holiday season), Laima Grygiel, Daphne Sawyer (also Treasurer), Becky Scheibe, Amy Alexander, Judy Kornfeld, Christine Schlesinger, Ann Nista, Pat Harsche-Weeks, Robyn Barto, Myra Robinson, Lisa Pression, Muncie Buckalew and Barbara Deptula.
And we cannot let go unnoticed the contributions of our steering committee who work with me --often the most challenging part of the job ;-) -- to keep us on track and organized. Many thanks to Beth Sheligo and Joyce Vecchioli, to Pey-Wen Ting our Webmaster, Mindy Taylor our Membership Director, and to outgoing Treasurer Daphne Sawyer. Advance thanks go to Laura Lambright for volunteering to fill the Treasurer role.
