The eclectic Elements Café in Haddon Heights reflects chef-Owner Fred Kellermann's training and desire to incorporate various "Elements" into his dishes. Always striving to perfect his offerings, the chef uses only the freshest ingredients and incorporates locally grown and organic ingredients whenever available.
Chef Kellermann participated in the apprenticeship program at the 5 Star The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia. He returned home and as the sous chef and executive pastry chef at The White Dog Café in the University City section of Philadelphia. Kellermann then became the executive chef at The Inn at Montchanin Village, and Krazy Kat's Restaurant, in Wilmington, Delaware.
Elements Café is Fred Kellermann's first foray as Chef-Owner. Established over six years ago, it has garnered critical acclaim in the local media, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, Courier Post, and Philadelphia Magazine, as well as national exposure in the New York Times and Bon Appetit magazine. A true artiste, Chef prefers to provide minimalist descriptions of the dishes, as he likes to go “off script” if a particular ingredient becomes available last minute, or he has a creative spark that induces him to tweak his stated prep. So, come prepared with a spirit of adventure, and please bring a bottle of white or red you would like to match to one of the dishes below – we will have some flexibility here – and be prepared to tell the group in attendance about your bottle.
